Limit SQL 2008 R2 Express in memory usage? (1 Viewer)

    is it an good idea to limit the maximum memory size of the SQL 2008 R2 Express database?

    now it use 1GB+

    in the wiki there is a metion for 128MB, but is that still reasonable for the current MePo 1.2.x versions?

    Depends on how much RAM you have to spare.

    How big is your database?
    Since there is limited access/users on the server, there should be pointless of reserving resources to the SQL-server.
    256MB should be enought to cache your database.

    If MS SQL process is using 1GB then let it be using :) It's the cache that uses the available free RAM. When ever OS or other processes are needing free RAM MS SQL is releasing some cached content and wont cause any swapping to happen.
