Just wanted to drop this out here, have been using this for a while now and totally love this little tool;
Link Shell Extension

Well I could go into depth what this tool does but it's already described in the link so I'll just give you guys a desc. of my usage;

I use this tool for mostly fanart and skin related stuff. The tool can create junctions and hardlinks.
Junction and hardlinks makes it possible to have one set of files appearing in multiple places, so therefore saving diskspace.

For example I have my (own) fanart located in;
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\My Fanart

I picked that folder as my "link source" and dropped it in the animations folder for a couple skins.
So now StreamedMP, XFactor and a couple other skins get the fan art from;
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\My Fanart
Although in skinfiles they are still pointing to the animation folder :)

Hope this is a clear explanation (if not, ask! Or read the link ;)) and you guys could think of some use for it, I know I can :)
