Hi All,

It seems every Xvid and Mkv file I play has lip sync problems. After 20-30 seconds the sync goes out for about 5 seconds (about .2-.5 of a second behind) and then seems to come back to normal again for another 30 seconds.

I've tried all the different audio codecs and all the different audio renderes. They all do exactly the same almost as though nothing changes at all. Picture is perfect.

I'm using a SB Live 24bit External with S/PDIF settings. The files play perfect in VLC with no lip sync problems.

Is there a way to boost the audio priority or something??

Thanks

In my case using the NVIDIA PureVideo codecs resolve this problem.
I've had simular problems because the Orb software was consuming to much processor time in the background.

Turns out it was actually the video side of things that was going wrong. I couldn't visually see the problem maybe the smallest of smallest jerks but it appears it was enough to put the sync out.

This is how I fixed it.

- Went into the ffdsho video decoder configuration
- Decoder options.
- Quality Control Section
- Decreased both 'Drop frame on delay' and 'Skip h264 deblocking on delay'

Not at my PC at the moment but I think I set it to something like

Drop frame on delay = 400
Skip h264 deblocking on delay = 150
