Listen to gramophone records using MP (1 Viewer)

Hi!

I have a USB record player that acts as a virtual sound card with a recording device.

If I want to listen to a record I start the record player, go to sound settings and check "use as playback device" on the recording device of the emulated sound card (as I am using a German version I'm not quite sure how this option is called in English. It's the same one you activate if on a microphone if you want to directly hear what it captures).

What I want to achieve is some kind of functionality that I can enable or disable the "use as a playback device" using a remote control. I do not need to record the audio, I just want to listen to it. Unfortunately I really need to disable it as there it some annoying noise of no playback is going on.

Is there maybe already a plugin for that? (Which could be used for e.g. cassettes as well)

Not used it, but I would think your looking at EventGhost [which is not specifically a MediaPortal plugn] and EventGhostPlus [which is].

Basically, EventGhost [via it's own plugins] allows marcos & other complex commands to be triggered via remote.
