G'day. Often enough to be very annoying, when watching live or recorded tv, it will stop playing and go back to the most recent menu. Mediaportal keeps working in a reduced functionality state until it is exited and restarted, however once it happens and I restart MP, it'll usually happen again within 10 min or so. The TV server doesn't seem to be affected, tv that's recording keeps recording fine.

After it stops, (until I restart it) I can't get live TV back on, the tv guide is mostly missing (black screen, some of the top heading is present with 'Label missing' written where the first channel should be.) and I can start a recorded program, but not skip forwards or make it full screen.

It does not seem to occur when watching DVDs or avi files, which work fine.

Logs are attached; it stopped while I was watching a recorded show, I ran the log tool, started MP, resumed watching, and it stopped again after 5 min or so.

Cheers for any help, sorry if I broke any forum rules. Couldn't find any other instances of the same problem.

edit: a couple of other thing I thought might be relevant: The same thing was happening with RC1, although I think it's happening more often now. Also, I've got the k-lite mega codec pack 395 (I think) installed and tried various other codecs available, which had no effect.

I've installed that update, with no effect.

It's so bloody frustrating, the time I've put into getting this thing working and it's still unusable because of this.

Could someone who knows what they're doing lease have a look at my logs?

If I've done the logging wrong, could you suggest how to do it right?

I'm at my wit's end with this thing. I'm this close to giving up on in entirely.

Hi Bumnut.
I am not an expert but as long as I can see you have few areas to concentrate:
1. In the tvserver error log you have too many failed to connect to database messages. Check the time in the log and see if it happens when your MP faults.
2. In the Mediaportal log at the end there is something about device lost. Which device I don't know, it could be your TV card or maybe network card.
Anyway, it sounds like you have something dodgy going on with your system, not necessarily with MP. Could be a hardware problem. If you have access to another PC, try to test MP there.
