    Hello,

i already posted this question in the german support forum, but could not get a solution.
The only result was that i am not the only one with this problem.

    Now the problem:
    • I am watching TV with MP
    • I press the power button on my remote - (PC enters standby mode)
    • I press the same button again - (PC and MP wake up, i am in MP home screen)
    • I enter the TV module and want to start TV watching and get an error message that says something like "could not start Timeshift - The graph could not be initialized"
I seems the TV is dead after wakeup from standby. I even have to restart the TV-Service to get TV back.
I had this problem with different Mainboards (all with onboard graphic) and different DVB-S cards. I don't thing that it is a problem with the TV card, because the TV-Service doesn't seem to have difficulties with standby (I can open the TV-Service config and start the channel preview after standby).

    Any idea?

    2 things

TVServer config\General set delay before MP detects card, mine needs 20 secs before drivers fully restarted.

MP config\general restart MP on resume from standby, also wait for TVserver to start enabled (General\Delayed Start).

    That does not help.
I already try it. I also set the delay at startup to 20sec.

Which one is true, as makes a big difference to what is wrong and the above statements are contradictory.

Most errors that i see all go back to directx running MP in your logs supplied.

    Ok, i will explain again.

    I have 2 senarios:

1.) Enter standby and resume from standby only with the TV-Service running
    -> no problem

2.) Enter standby and resume from standby with the TV-Service an the MP client running
-> the described problem -> i have to restart the client AND the TV-Service to get TV back.
My suggestion: The MP client killed the TV functionality from the TV-Service:
The proof: I close the MP client after the problem occured, i start the TV-Serivce config tool, i open the tv-channel preview and get then same error like in the MP client: can't initialized graph

I thing the following part of the log file contains the problem:

As per the setting in MP\general restart MP on resume setting, is this physically happening, you should see MP starting up on resume and waiting for tvserver to have started. if your missing this, try disabling this and close config and then re open and change setting back.

In mediaportal.xml you could check for this line

    <entry name="restartonresume">yes</entry>

I have already enabled this, but has no effect, the problem exists.

    Can you tell me what "2008-05-01 14:12:09.193000 [Info.][10]: Main: DX9 re-entrant" means?

    Do you see MP restart!

That why the dx9 re-entrant means, it already running, so it looks like it has not stopped and then restarted, which may not have given DX9 chance to fully reset..

    same for me...

going to hibernate/standby with tv running in mp... windows wakes up, mediaportal is reinitializing, but u can't use TV... My (uncomfortable) solution:
MCE StandBy Tool -> 10s Standby delay
PVRScheduler runs Script before enter Standby -> stop tvservice and close mediaportal
    wake up
PVRScheduler runs Script -> start tvservice and run mediaportal

that's the only config working for me... Unfortunately, PVRScheduler sometimes forgets to start MP so my Hauppauge remote isn't responding and I need to go to may mediacenter and restart it with the powerbutton...
