Hi,
my Live TV freezes constantly. Sometimes after a few seconds or after a few hours and i can't go back. I can only close MP with taskmanager. With the microsoft codec i have the same problems most after few hours.
The logs i made with the arcsoft codecs because the freezes here often happens. I attached two logfiles. One with md**i and the other without.

Hi commander

It looks like MDAPI is being used in both cases there. It is still involved even when you only view free channels. You must unregister it for it to be disabled. Please also install the Microsoft VC++ 2008 redistributable from -->here<-- to fix some of the errors that I'm seeing in your logs. Also, change from pause mode to stop mode as instructed -->here<--. Once you've done all that, please test again. We don't provide any support for MDAPI so please only provide logs with MDAPI disabled (if you are still able to reproduce the problem that way).

It looks like the issue is discontinuities in your signal:

If you skip back one step (5 or 15 seconds) then I'd guess the video would start playing again. Some codecs are more sensitive to discontinuities than others. You could try using FFDShow - it is the best I've used for handling discontinuities...

I don't need stop tvservice. It's enought to kill mediaportal.

The problem can be in TvService or in MP (or in both). If you have to kill also TvService, than problem is probably in TvService. I found in your logs that TvService is working correctly after you kill MP.

I think that problem is probably in used codecs. Did you try FFDShow?

this problem i have not have with mp 1.2 alpha. I can't skip back. MP freeze completly. With the microsoft codec mediaportal freeze after one or two hours. With FFDShow i have jitter on live tv.

Which codec did you use? Or better how were configured TV codecs in MP Configuration? Because I see in your logs that you have H264 encoded streams and for that is better to use ffdshow DXVA Video Decoder instead of ffdshow Video Decoder.

Hi,

here my both configs. With the arcsoft codec mp freeze after some minutes or after half hour. With the microsoft codec mp freeze after one hour or later. Ffdshow i had not testet in mp 1.2 beta. In alpha i had frame drops with ffdshow and no problems with freezes.

If you want you can try ffdshow codecs, but remeber to set H.264 Video decoder as ffdshow DXVA Video decoder. If you choose non-DXVA decoder, it can cause stuttering.
