Hi,

I've finally managed to stop my TV stuttering on playback and all other issues I was having....until....

This is a really hard one to describe. When I watch live TV, it's like the picture isn't catching up properly.

The only way I can describe it is that I've only seen this when my son has been watching Drake and Josh on a normal TV. I really don't know how else to describe the issue.

Does anyone understand what I mean? Is it a refresh rate problem? Deinterlace?

Are you talking about picture and audio be off sync? (Lips don't match sound).

Hi,

No, unfortunately that's not it.

The best way I can explain it is to say that when someone moves their arm really quickly, it's like there's a 'history' of their movement. It only lasts microseconds but is definitely noticeable and makes the picture look terrible.

could be ghosting...

have you tried a different codec? Which one do you use?
Also try updating your grafics driver.

Yup. That sound like ghosting

There are many threads about this - try doing a search. In general:
Make sure refresh rat is 50 (or 75, 100) for PAL (otherwise 60?).

Use a decent decoder. I recommend you to DL the AVIVO codecs to get DXVA (or buy the CyberLink codecs)

Yes, it was 'ghosting'. Sorry for the dumb post, but as I didn't know what the problem was called, I couldn't search for it

I've changed the video decoder and it's fine now.

All I need to do now is find out what tearing is.....
