Have you tried the 84.21 Nvidia drivers? What version of the purevideo decoder are you using?

I have tried the 84.21 Nvidia driver and the problem is not related to the PureVideo Decoder since it is also present when I use other decoders.

Also, have you performed the tips for smoother video playback in the Tips and tricks thread?

Here are a couple that may help...

I have set the PCI latency to 64.
Unfortunately I can't install the DRM and DVB patches since my XP version (danish) is not compatible with these :(

Also, there is a tip about making a large cluster size when you format your recording drive but I discovered that if you make it too big you get a stutter every ten to twenty seconds.
The problem is not only with Time-shift and recordings but also with live tv, so how could this solve that problem? Does MP buffer the stream in live TV?

Not too sure why, but I had the same problems wih Timeshift on and off. They only went away when I re-formatted my recordings drive with smaller cluster sizes. This won't affect you if you have default size, but if you have large clusters then it could be worth looking into.

As to the other patches to improve performance, that sucks that you can't use it because of your version of XP. When MS make a patch to fix a problem it should work for all thir software that has that bug...
