Hi,

Is Liveleak working perfectly for you guys? With old version of Onlinevideos all videos worked, but after update only some videos work. What I've noticed is, that videos uploaded to Liveleak doesn't work, but Youtube links and other external site videos are working. I did complete uninstall before updating, so that shouldn't be the problem.

EDIT: Wow, things really have changed around here. This used to be kind of helpful forum at one time. Simple yes or no would have been enough.

Most users only visit the forums when they have a problem, so I guess there are generally not too many people around to answer questions. More patience, and look for a relevant active thread that people may be subscribed to in preference to starting a new one if possible, I think would increase the chances of an answer.

In answer to your question, yes, I do see the same problem with the current version, only 2 out of the first 10 recent items work, although I can't say for sure that it was working with the old version as I don't often use Liveleak. I have not tried to troubleshoot it yet.

Yes, you're somewhat right. I just think, that this forum used to be much more active 6-7 years back in time. The reason why I got frustrated was, that there were over 50 people, who viewed this thread and I wasn't asking much of a help, just if it was working or not. I was just in the middle of the installing process of the latest MP and got huge problems to get TV-server installed correctly. I had to install it 5-6 times, to get it right. In addition to that, I found out Onlinevideos is not working properly, so I thought I'll have to start all over again.

Some other sites seems to be behaving the same, so I thought that might be the case. Thank you for your answer, now I at least know for sure. I can't really confirm that neither, anymore. But from my recollection, it worked properly last time with old version.

Here it's working fairly well. Only watch some videos, so problems may not present themselves here.
But just checked a video which is hosted by liveleak and that one worked.
Perhaps if you add logs it will attract a bit more attention.

Don't think there's a need to wriggle your way in other threads just to get more attention, there still are enough people checking the new posts regularly, and answering if possible.

Hi, I've got exactly the same issue as you.
Native Liveleak videos stopped working after the 2.0.0.0 update.

I have problems with native videos from liveleak (like this thread)
The message on my screen is: Fout: Kan video niet afspelen. No Url. (error, can't play video, no URL)

    • have the latest version of the plugin installed

    That is 2.0.0.3590
I uninstalled the plugin, went to the plugin folder and deleted everything about onlinevideos.
I went to plugin installer and cleaned the cache.
I downloaded the plugin from the plugin page and installed it.

    • can reproduce the bug using the DefaultWide skin

    I confirm

    • searched the forum for known bugs

This was the only thing I could find
    and wasn't very helpful

    • checked availability of the actual website providing the video

The website itself doesn't have these issues

    • tried playing different videos multiple times on different days

The problem persists already for a few days.

    • tried to download the video (context menu - F9) and play the local file
    No success, same error message

When posting always attach logs from a troublesome run (set verbosity to Debug in Configuration, use the startmenu entry: Team MediaPortal/MediaPortal/MediaPortal Debug-Mode and select Report a bug to a plugin developer) and fill out your system specification in the forum's user profile section (and make it public).
Ignoring these guidelines will result in deleted posts!

I could not find the startmenu entry stated above but ran mediaportal log in debug mode.
Logs are attached when I tried to play 3 videos from liveleak with onlinevideos.
Please don't delete this request for help, I would add any desired information necessary

According to your logs, it's a https video, and those are not supported (yet? @georgius ), so there is not much we can do about it.
The one that I'd tested probably was a normal http video.
Can you give me an example (title) of a video that won't play?

Edit: Never mind, I found one. This is definitely due to https not being supported. When I open the https url in other programs, it plays fine

@offbyone : maybe move this to the liveleak thread?

I just came to post some logs myself, but I won't bother now - the URL is HTTPS, so I guess that's the issue.

Don't think there's a need to wriggle your way in other threads just to get more attention, there still are enough people checking the new posts regularly, and answering if possible.

I wasn't suggesting "wriggling", if that means hijacking threads. I merely meant that if there is a relevant thread already then it might be better to post there. For example in this case the OP thought it was an issue with the new version of the plugin, so it would have seemed reasonable to me to post in the main support thread for the new version. The HTTPS issue doesn't just affect Liveleak, it affects at least Vimeo as well (changed my mind, attached a log with a Vimeo error), and I assume others, so it's not a liveleak issue is it?

Ok, Agreed. Indeed it was a bit unclear as to what the cause was.

Checking your log of vimeo, that seems to be (at first sight) unrelated to https, I'll check it out.
And as for hijacking threads: It's hard not to, as it seems :)

Edit: I've found a bug in vimeo which prevented playing videos without subtitles, and after I fixed that, the https videos are indeed unplayable. So the conclusion is indeed correct that https support is (accidentally?) dropped in MpUrlSourceSplitter

Thank you for confirming this error.
The reason some videos play at liveleak is because liveleak also host/publish videos from youtube, those play fine.
