Hello Everyone,

first post here and first of all I really need to thank you for the whole work and effort. MediaPortal is a great/outstanding software.

But here is the problem/issue I am currently experiencing. I upgraded to the latest SVN and now everytime when MP is started on any clients it got stuck at the splashscreen at "Loading Windows Plugins". It takes approx. 5 minutes until MP has completely started, but then if you click on TV --> complete freeze!

The seat setup is as follows:

The main HTPC receiving a satelite signal is connected to the HomeGroup via WLAN (n-standard). One Laptop is also connected via WLAN (g) and another PC wired. The router which is being used is a FritzBox 7390. Connections are stable with an excellent signal quality.

In the last SVN's everything just run fine, except that watching TV using the Laptop sometimes freezes MP, or watching HD Live-TV on the main HTPC crashed the whole machine.

Currently I wasn't able to test the lastet SVN due to the problems described above. By the way, watching TV on the Server is just fine with the latest SVN.

at HTPCInfoPlugin.HTPCInfo.InitConnectors(), No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:31456)

If this log is from the PC which does _not_ have the TvServer installed, then it simply tries to connect to the wrong IP. (127.0.0.1 is your local PC)

Go to MediaPortal Configurtaion -> Television and enter the hostname of the PC where you have the Tv-Server installed.

Please always provide full logs - clients and server.

Also what DB Engine do you use MySQL or MS SQLServer?
Did you try without any 3rd party plugins?

Edit: infinityloop is right about localhost, I missed that part.

@infinityloop: The logs provided are from the Client not from the TVServer. I tried it using DNS Name / IP (also checked the IP on the TV Server itself. Have tried it with a hosts config but neither nor it comes up with the same error.

arion_p: Sorry for that ... will provide the logs from the server as soon as possible. DB is MYSQL 2008 on the TVServer. As far as I am aware of, there are no 3rd party plugins installed except those from PureVisionHD3.7 - but I tried it with disabled plugins also.

I think you should try a clean install of RC2 on your client systems, stick with Blue3wide as skin initially and see if you can get that working. The install your skin/plugins of choice.

You are right, I missed that.

But I would advice that you remvoe that plugin since it throws an aweful lot of exceptions in the log.

Your main issue is:

Since you say that this problem occured suddenly when you installed a new svn rev. - did you try to revert to the last working one and see if it works again?

Because if not, then something else happened.

I would advice a complete reinstall of the client using the 1.1.0 RC2 version we released today - and not use any community plugins nor skins for the start to get it back working.

Just a quick note. I already reinstalled SVN 25546 from scratch on all machines since the problem came up.
But as you are saying RC2 has been released I will give it a shot.

BTW I have attached the logs from the TVServer.

Will get back as soon as I reinstalled RC2 and report if there are any errors left.

If no client can connect, perhaps something changed in you firewall. It is possible that uninstallation of TVServer removed existing rules and new ones where not added in installation of new version.

Back again ...

Installed RC2 on TVServer (singleseat) and on 2 Clients (Client). Attached are all three logs.

After seeing DB issues in the last log I figured out, that the SQL2008 on the TVServer wasn configured properly. Maybe its due to the script i had been using - let me post the section I think that it responsible for that:

After setting TCP/IP in "Protocols for SQLExpress" to enabled, it is running fine - no startup delays anymore.
