I stopped LiveTV and went to settings - TV in MP to change the MPEG2 decoder. When I clicked on the button for MPEG2 Codec, MP completely locked up and I had to force close it.

MP was recording at the time, which perhaps had something to do with it although I don't really see why it should have.

No poblem I can see in logs, what codec were you trying to change too.

Check the bottom of your DX log to make sure it exists.

I was trying to change from Cyberlink to Nvidia. I know they're both installed as I can switch with the config program, although the Nvidia decoder's not been working properly (blank screen) since I tried the patched core.dll!

I don't tend to use the in-MP settings anyway, so not worth worrying about too much and it might have just been a one-off.

Just to clarify, I didn't actually get to see the list to choose what codec I wanted to change to. The lock up occured as soon as I clicked on the MPEG2 codec button.

As I said, it doesn't concern me too much as I don't tend to use the Settings, but why has this been tagged as No Bug?

    Not by me.

Does sound a bit codec related though, is there any problem using config to select codecs and if you use graphedit, does it confirm the codecs you have selected are being used.

There's no problem using config to select codecs and graphstudio confirms that MP's using the right one.

I tried it again earlier and it didn't lock up, so I think it's unlikely to be codec related as they haven't changed.

MP's been doing some strange things after resuming from hibernate here though, so it might be related to that.
