Log fills up with:

[ERROR][MPMain(1)]: GraphicContext: Error setting Blankscreen to True - System.NullReferenceException: Objektreferensen har inte angetts till en instans av ett objekt.
vid MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUIGraphicsContext.set_BlankScreen(Boolean value)

... but not always.

Which is the more predictable way to reproduce this issue then ?

Not really sure yet, but probably just leave it mimimized for a couple of hours. I will test if anything else needs to be done before or not.

OK, it seems that it fills up every time, if the idle timer time has gone. When I said "not always" I didn't wait that long.

So, you just have to wait whatever time you have set for idle timing.

I guess there is no need for blanking the screen when minimized, so idle timer could check for that first.

cannot reproduce with current svn.

Configuration->Screensaver:

idle timeout: 300
idle action: blank screen

minimized for 12 minutes and restored. Logs are clean.

OK, just found out that I doesn't even have to minimize. It fills up anyway. I shall test to remove plugins. I'll be back!

Tested without plugins: same

Try set the timer for 10 sec so you don't have to wait so long. Then it's enough that MP is in the background, or for any other reason cannot blank the screen. It doesn't have to be minimized. After 10 sec of inactivity, the log starts to fill with 5kB/sec, so it's a bit annoying. It's the same on both vista and xp. I can set logging to error only, but error log fills up too, so it doesn't help much.

I can't be alone with this, when I have it on both setups??? Anyone else?

Another thing I found was that even if screensaver is unset in MP's settings (not configuration.exe), the screensaver is on until you restart.

OK, I found that it is the setting: "Turn off monitor when blanking the screen" that triggers this. Was yours on?

Please copy RC2 core in a safe place and replace it with _both_ those files. Then clean logs and reproduce the error.
