    Hi,

I'm running a multiseat configuration, the TV server also hosts all media. I'm using the WOL feature to startup the the TV server.

There is a delay in the startup time due to the fact that the MP client tries to load a default playlist, which contains music stored on the server, before waking the server. Since the media is not accessible there is a ~20s delay during startup.

PS. I just moved all my media to a standalone NAS (running 24/7) and I noticed there was some improvements in startup time. So of course I had to find out why...

    Regards

    AW: Long startup time

    Just a quick guess:

If you have IPv6 aktivated, try deactivating it, i guess you have windowsfirewall and Defender aktivated, it seems that the combination of ipv6 and firewall is causing long startup times.

    cheers

Think you are missing my point here, the MP client is trying to access files on the TV server before waking the TV server.

    Hi there,

The only "quick" fix I can think of, is that you do not use the MePo WOL functionality, but you run an external WOL program when the client starts.

Ideally, the playlist load/check should be moved to another point.

Yep. I will look at moving where playlist is loaded to stop is slowing down startup.

I will also look at being a bit more clever about actually loading it so we don't take minutes trying to load a playlist if the media is stored on a share which is not available
