You can pause fine and it will allow you to skip back to the begining but if you fast forward you can't do anything after that. I'm sorry what are the default codecs?  I see a lot of talk about all kinds of codecs so I don't really know what I'm supposed to be using. Also, it was doing it in other programs I would try to play it in as well like media player or gbpvr or ati player they would all do the same thing if you tried to fast forward those specific files. Converting them to mpeg fixed it for all of those though. Except that now Media Portal won't play it. It did create a seperate file when I converted it though so now there are two with the same name except one is an mpeg and one is dvr-ms could Media Portal be getting confused over which one to play?</blockquote>
