Hello,

I got cable installed, and I thought it would comme with a set top box, so I could plug it in my VIVO card through S-VHS. But that was not the case, I just got a raw 75 Ohms connector (which I tested on a friend TV, and is working fine).

Therefore, I'm lokking for a tuner card, compatible with MediaPortal, of course, that would tune cable (NTSC) signals, and if possible ATSC. I only ahve a PCIe (PCI Express x1) slot (no PCI), but I have some USB ports left.

I'd like not to put much more than 100$ for that (so upcoming Vbox eDTA-164 is out of the league). Any recommandations ?

Thanks in advance,

Eya

BTW, that's NOT and ATSC card. It's based on the ATi 550 chipset and offers great video quality.
Later this month the ATi 650 based cards are supposed to be released and it does support ATSC. Not only that but the first review I saw said it has the best video quality of any card for analog. That includes the 550 based cards and the Hauppauge cards.

Thanks ! Have you got any idea on how much a 650 based card would cost ? (the very nice part is that the chipste support PAL/SECAM/NTSC and both ATSC and DVB-T which is pretty nice, cause I will move back to Europe in 2 years).

The only other option I've found is the K-world 310U USB (93$), which does both CATV and ATSC, but only the ATSC part is supported by MediaPortal, though I was told the TV engine of MP 0.3 should support the analog part.

Price will vary by manufacturer but I'd expect it to be around $100. I'd also make sure the card is built to support the euro formats. Just because the chipset does, doesn't mean all the cards will.

MP 0.3 will be released when? And MP 0.3 will support some additional tuners but will it support this one. That's the question.
