Hi

I just installed 1RC2 and as per the reccomendation uninstalled the previous installations, I did not however say yes to the question of a complete removal.

On installation of RC2 and opening TVserver my database is empty so all my schedules and recordings are lost.

I also notices that the schema name was "somethingRC2".

Can I get my info back by either reconnecting to the old DB and leaving it at that, or if the DB has changed for a specific reason reconnect and export the info?

Ta Mark

    u can always reinstall tvserver.
This way it will query for the DB schema name once again.

    Or u can run "setuptv.exe -c"

    Winner!!

Phew that worked a treat, flipped it over to TVLibrary schema, exported the data, edited the xml to delete the channels and groups just leaving the schedules, then flipped it back to MpTvDbRC2 scheme and imported it.

    Thanks much appreciated

I had a similar problem (posted to general support) except it was my movie database and all my thumbnails. I too retained my user files, but I do not understand exactly what you did robomonkey.

Why is this information not maintained? Is there a conversion utility?

What do I need to do to get this information back? 500gb of movies, I dont really want to re-enter each one.

ok I found my own solution after hunting around on my hard drive. The database files got moved from c:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal\database to documents and settings\all usrs\application data\team mediaportal\mediaportal\database

    sigh
