I installed MePo for our neighbour who has been enjoying it for a few months now. Last Saturday night they called me to say the sound is gone on their box. I told them to reboot. Nothing.

Win7 64 bit Home Premium. Connected to 32" LCD TV via HDMI. Has been working just fine.

I had Mepo 1.2.1 but upgraded it to 1.2.2 today. Nothing.

Since the LAV filters are being installed with InfoService I uninstalled SAF5. Set everything to use LAV Filters. Nothing.

I don't get sound out of MePo through movies or music but at the desktop I can hear the normal Windows beeps.

I fiddled with specifying the Sounds over HDMI instead of the default directsound device. Nothing. Put it back, rebooted, nothing.

I've never experienced this issue before. While looking over some of the logs there are now items that indicate certain DLL's are not compatible with this version of MePo, which makes me wonder if updating to 1.2.2 has introduced even more issues.

Attached are the logs from the neighbour's machine. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Please check if MediaPortal is not muted in the windows volume taskbar. (open MP in windowed mode to check)

    Thanks.

I was looking through that to see if something was 'muted' and I can't see anything.

My Volume Mixer doesn't contain an entry specifically for media portal, it looks like this (see attachment)

Oh wait, yes, load MePo and *then* check the volume settings.

Yes, that was it! It was muted. Fixed.

    Big sigh of relief.

    Many many thanks!!!!

Nice to hear you got it solved! =)
And sorry for being a bit unclear about you need to check things while MP is running.. thats what I meant with "open MP in windowed mode to check".

Well, 'm' key is also used to mute (toggles). It quite easy to accidentially press it...

True. I don't know if they were using the keyboard as they have a remote. Oh well.

But thanks again for the tips. Love the community here.
