I have recently switched over to MediaPortal from MythTV. All I can say is that the interface is much better than MythTV and since we are in Windows, I can finally get my Hauppauge HVR-1800 working as well. Anyway, I am experiencing some lag when going into the networked Movies directory under My Videos. There is close to 300-350 videos in this one folder. I also have a TV Shows directory (Each show is seperated by Season directories) , which is blazing fast compared to the Movies directory. I have all this on a fileserver going through a 100MBit connection between the two boxes. Is there anyway of speeding this up? I know MythTV used a database to "index" all the files and needs updated when the files change. I am guessing that MediaPortal does not do this. Is there anyway around this?
