Low audio level in discovery eurosport etc DVB-T Sweden (1 Viewer)

Hi i got about 50% of the audio level when watching eurosport, discovery animalplanet and perhaps some more compare with all other channels e.g. SVT 1 2 Tv 3 etc , any ide what the problem is?

I'm experience the same problem with Discovery can't say anything about the other channels not watching them.
I' using DVB-T reciever in Skövde, i'll test with a normal reciever to see if it's the same problem.

Most likely it's a broadcaster "issue" (i.e. the channel audio level is just lower than on other channels). TVE3 itself is not doing any audio processing and the audio codec receives the exat bitstream that the broadcaster is sending.

Ok, but my other HTPC with Wellton Way MMC ver.3 do not have that problem with different audiolevels (except when its commercials ;-) ) . Can it be anything with the audio codecs? When i re-install the MP i need every time to change codecs (by trial and error) as its total silence on these 3-4 channels before i got at least 50% . i have download and install all required codecs according to this homepage instructions ( i hope). Please suggest me optimal audiocodecs settings or additional needed codecs ( I cant say what codecs i use right now, the MP is busy, my kid watching..).

Anyhow my goal is to set up the server when everything works fine and then clients on all computers...(3 kids..)

Hi liss,

In my experience Eurosport, Discovery, Animal Planet and (some other) is sending in audio in Mono.
The only audio decoder that works for me with these channels is DScaler all the rest I've tried do not work with mono (I've tested ffdshow, cyberlink, mpa).

I'm using SPDIF out to my receiver - and I don't experience any problems with audio levels. Perhaps it is only an issue if you are passing it to your speakers directly?

If i test with a normal reciever the sound level is the same on Discovery and TV3, but on my MP clients the
level on Discovery is lower, on the clients i'm using Dscaler decoder. If i remember correctly the level has been the same but i can't say when this problem first occurred, and i've always been using Dscaler decoder. A guess is that the problem came somewhere in January but i can't say for sure.

Yes!! i use Dscaler audi codec and when i changed from surrond 5.1 to stereo on the direct show filtercontroll its now works! so for sure its something with my connection to my surrond 5.1 reciver thanks for your help!

I also got the same problem whit does channels...
If i record on any of does channels and then play the recording in mpc-hc audio is fine...
I have checked the graphs and the same audio codec is used "mpa" but different splitters

might be a connection problem... ??

Only codec that works for me with Eurosport and Discovery is the Xing codec always have to switch codec
