Hi all, first post, but thanks for all the valuable posts that have helped me no end.

I have a problem with some mkv's i'm playing thru Moving Pictures. I output the sound via spdif to my Amp. Most sound perfect but 2 or 3 of my rips playback very very quiet. I have to turn the amp up so loud i can hear fuzz in the background.

Any ideas what could be wrong? (All are DTS/DD) :D

They're probably encoded with low volume. I don't know which audio-decoder you use, but some of them (like ffdshow) has a "normalize" function that will adjust the amplification of the audio to a specified level.

Thanks for that. I use spdifer as my audio encoder. I'll have a look if that has normalize or similar.
