    Hi,
I am using MP in a client-only setup including DVB-S card for over 10 years now. And regularily scheduling records waking up the machine and normally Windows goes to sleep afterwards.

But since some weeks now, I often do have to problem that the machine doesn't go to sleep at night. I think mostly when it was woken up for recording and not by the user.
    powercfg /requests doesn't show anything
This week I run powercfg /energy at morning when the machine was still running again. There a new error popped up:
Systemverfügbarkeitsanforderungen:Anforderung "System erforderlich" Das Programm hat eine Anforderung gestellt, um zu verhindern, dass das System automatisch in den Standbymodus wechselt. [TABLE] [TR] [TD]Anfordernder Prozess[/TD] [TD]\Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe[/TD] [/TR] [/TABLE]
So something like "Request for system availability", "System required", "Program avoids system to go to standby". After restart this error is gone.

What can be reasons MP is avoiding standby? Watching a movie of course ;) Any other ideas? Maybe I can narrow down the search.

PowerScheduler is configured as HTPC using and not go to sleep when MP is not running (which it does when put to standby by user).

    Greetings and thank you

Please, switch log verbosity level of the TV Server to Debug.

Please find attached a debug log.
I scheduled a recording, put the machine sleep manually at about 20:24.
It woke up and this time it went to sleep right after recording stopped.

It seems, that you have checked checkbox 'Do not put the computer to sleep while the MediaPortal client is not running'.
    In log:
    Code:
PS: Inspecting Processes (MP client inactive): StandbyPrevented

Yes, thats by intention. I think this helped against me accidentally hitting the standby button on the remote while some non-MP job was running. Worked perfectly for years.
Do you think there might be a problem TVservice not detecting that MP is actually running? Because of course it does.

Sometimes when waking up the HTPC I find MP crashed, usually with just stuck home screen. After manually killing MP exe, watch dog kicks in.
But usually (always?!) when the HTPC didn't go to sleep automatically, MP is alive normally. Maybe still showing the red recording icon, although nothing is recorded.

Btw, waking up is deactivated for the ethernet adapter, keyboard and mouse.

    Hello,
What I can see is Windows 11 make a bit what it wants, with standby/hibernate stuff.
Then, I force the use of powerscheduler and avoid shutdown when click on power button.
Here is my config, maybe it can help :

The PowerScheduler plugin detects the MP by checking of running processes. The name of the process must equal to 'MediaPortal' (ignore case).
Are you absolutely sure, that there is a running process of that name?

Yes, when I see the HTPC still running in the morning (doesn't happen always, don't get me wrong. Maybe 30% of the cases.) I turn the TV on and can check for running recordings directly, so MP works normal (usually ;) ) So there must be a MediaPortal process. And I allways stop any playback before putting to sleep. And usually going to home screen.

Yes, I tried forcing sleep by PowerScheduler for some weeks but after the third time the HTPC going to sleep right in the middle of a film with no one touching the remote, I returned to Windows-controlled.

I didn't expect we can track down the reason here. Therefore my shy question about mechanisms of MP preventing Windows standby.
Should have checked my TVserver logs. I only checked Windows event logs for updates or whatever.

I did a check of MP 1.36 x64 on Win11 and I can confirm, that the TV server correctly detects running MediaPortal.exe process.
