Mine has tons of flicker. Far too many to manually touch up. I used version 2.43 so the problem exists there as well. Any rendering settings that will help to minimize this?

It would be fantastic to allow this as an option in the configuration to allow a video "splash" - But I am sure by allowing this, it would take much longer to start up MP, but it would be great to fade out the video and then fade in the MP start/home screen then!

    Great idea!

...and the devs can include a hardcoded water stamp of the MediaPortal logo as a option for the old "new splash screen" - worries (search the forums)

All I can say really is that I used v. 2.41 and 2.42, the latter with some easy to edit flicker. It might be your hyperthreading CPU. Sorry to say that all advice I can give is to check the blender forums, or disable hyperthreading.

I used a simple AMD53 3000+ for this and got around 15 frames of really small flickering.

I have gotten a lot of PM's asking about my avatar lately. Now I decided to make a simple guide on how to make your own "20th century FOX"-intro. First of all credits goes to another dude on another forum (can't find it right now, sorry... well, you know if you should have cred or not :D).

This is probably the original source (also has a nice walk-through):

If you read through that AVSForum thread - you will also find a thread for a Universal style intro.

As said on the AVSForum to prevent flickering :

-Install latest version of blender and edit your file
    -Save your file
-Uninstall latest version and install 2.37a, render
    Wait hours and hours,
    perfect :)

Thanks, having spent all weekend waiting for it to render, the flickering was annoying. Will give this a go. :)

I also tried the suggestions posted here to change the large pedestal block and the bars between the text. With blender 2.43 this solved the flicker issue but there was still some distortion from the large pedestal. Rendering in version 2.37a fixes it.
