Manage movies from within MP (1 Viewer)

Ok, I am having an issue and am tired of searching through the forums to find bits and pieces of information. there is a TON of information to sift through, and I haven't found a solution, so I am asking.

I am wanting to be able to manage ALL of my DVD's from within MP. What I want it to be able to do is to Rip a dvd to ISO (I got that part figured out from forum searches, couple of solutions available). After that, I would like it to appear in a Movie list somewhere ready to play. I can handle if there are a few steps to be able to get cover art, etc...

The problem is that a lot of movies get ripped as DVD_VIDEO.iso. That is the DISC_LABEL on the DVD, so that is what it gets named by DVD DECRYPTER. It would be nice if that could get re-named somehow.

The other problem is the getting of Cover Art. through several manual porcesses, I ripped the movie EVOLUTION. MP pulled down info for a movie EVOLUTIE (or somthing like that). I can't figure out now how to change that.

There is no step by step setup instructions for getting this type of funtionality to work. Not even with the plugins like My Films. I have not been able to get My Films to work to see if this solves my issues or not. I am having troubles figuring out how to use the ant catalog. I have not spent much time on it yet, but it is not very intuitive for setting it up and getting it to work.

Any and All help greatly appreciated by me (and my wife, who this functionality is needed by).

Nevermind. I am an idiot. Always check the simple stuff before getting to the hard stuff.

The wife will be happy now.

I may try to take the pieces from each of the locations you have to go to and write a single plugin to have this all in one screen, though. would make life even easier.

MP config\movies\moviedatabase\editor\title next to lookup, real name is Evolution (2001), it's a pain having to do, renaming film files correctly, but you only do it once and then back them up, ie get the folder named thumbs\video and the file Videodatabase from the db folder, all of which are situated normally at crogramfiles\team-mediaportal\mediaportal folder.

I agree, and all of these are dependant on how good your movie name is in the first place.

Install AMC, install amcupdater from here, This is to easily get amc to import your film filenames.

Run the amcupdater application, These are my settings



Then once you have your correct paths imputed hit the just do it button, be aware it can run for a hour or two depending on internet connection and how many files you are parsing.

Will finish off setting up AMC tomorrow as going out now, unless someone else wants to step in, i know i have only just done this and i struggled to find answers to my questions and i know where to look.
