Manually tune to channel in scheduled task (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

Just wondering if it's possible to have tv server tune to a channel as if live tv but i don't want to show it, just want to be able to tune to a channel for a few hours over night. Currently am setting it to record a few things and then having to delete them but i'd like to be able to do it in a better way! Hopefully using a scheduled task to start and stop it?

Hi there,

There is no native functionality in the software to do this.

The way you have it set (scheduled daily recording) is the easiest way to achieve this. Is there any reason you arent happy with the way you are doing it (bar having to delete the file)?

You could use Episode Management to save 1 episode. Then MePo would auto-remove the older recording. I do this for my local 10 PM News, only record 2 episodes. See wiki http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...rtal/3_TV/3_Record_TV/1_Scheduling_Recordings

Completely forgot about this, one of the reasons i came back to MP from MythTV! I use to use MP a few years ago but in recent times the project has gone down hill a little bit so decided to use MP again.
