Mapped drives not showing up (1 Viewer)

I'm running Windows 8 and just installed mp.15, but I'm having a problem with not seeing mapped drives in MP. I launch MP configuration, go to plugins, and try to configure mp tv-series and I can't see/add any network drives. The same thing happens with Moving Pictures.

The really odd thing is that if I just launch the MP TV-Series Configuration tool as a stand alone program it shows mapped drives normally. I tried running as an administrator, and turning UAC off but still no luck.

Config runs as admin and often does not see the mapped drives. I would recommend to enter paths manually & use UNC paths instead of drive letters. That should work.

Thanks. That's annoying. My XP machine running 1.3 (or maybe it was 1.2) could do mapped drives. Now I have to import everything over again. It's extra annoying for me since my network is pretty dynamic and those UNC paths will probably change often.

It is really weird that I can see the mapped drives when running MP TV-Series config natively.

They are in the database, and the import worked fine when using the native mp-tv series config, but they aren't available when I'm in MP. They are in red which meant my drive wasn't attached properly (usually because I changed something on my network and had to adjust my mapped drive).

Ah, OK - so the issue is not MP Config not being able to Access them, but MP when running, got it. I guess you need to check the permissions on them then. There also is a plugin to re-connect Network drives when MP starts (some people seem to have such an issue)

I'm the owner of all the files and I'm running as the same domain admin on all my machines. The drives are all connected. just fine. I did run into the mapped drives not connecting problem before, but just wrote a script to reconnect them 30 seconds after startup on that machine. I didn't know there was a plugin for it. Good to know.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with Windows 8 running this in separate memory. I haven't really used Windows 8 too much outside of very vanilla cases. I know that there is a group policy that lets you turn that off, but I haven't had a chance to try this yet. This is a Windows 8.1 Enterprise machine. I'm not sure if forcing the 'run in separate memory' is unique to it.

I run on Windows 8.1 as well (one also Enterprise). Maybe you could produce a log of the issue in Debug mode? Might help.
