mapping mce remote (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have a HP mce remote control and it works almost well in MP. However
the play/pause key doesn't work when I'm playing a movie.

I try to map the key with the Remote->Microsoft MCE->Mapping in the
list view Microsoft MCE Remote->Play->All Layers->Media is Playing->Action 'Pause'

but still the movie won't pause!

Why?

Does exist a good guide on how to map the remote?????

Does the movie pause if you hit the space bar on your keyboard?

I am having similar issues at the moment. As soon as I double click mouse anywhere on the screen those functions come alive.

Yes when I press the space keyboard the pause works...but
if I double click anywhere on the screen the pause on the remote control does not still work!

I don't understand if is a problem that the MP does not map well these keys or the map editor does
not work well.

Do you know if there is a GOOD guide on mapping remote?

No Im sorry I dont. I tried looking as well. I wanted to try the same as you but couldnt find a guide on how it is done.

I'm having the same problem now with a geniune MS MCE Remote. I had to reset to default settings because it didn't work at all, now it just works in menu's but not during playback.

but for some reason I can get the functions back if I double click the mouse pad on the main screen

I am using MPC Home Cinema as my external player for MP. With that you can configure it to use inputs from your remote...



For me my MCE remote (a clone Trust 2400) worked fine with the internal player when using MP. However I switched to MPC HC as I found that certain files would not play back with that player and they would play ok with MPC.
