Have been on MP before, but changed to MCE 2005. The only thing im missing in MCE 2005 is to be able to swith between the different embedded language subs and also to turn them off and use external instead.

I can change to different languages subs in external players, but not with in the MCE 2005 player:(
Tried everything with Directvobsub, vsfilter, ffdshow.

Can MP handle this?

And will I be able to use the yellow subtitles key on my remote (Philips srm-7500) which I havent been able to in MCE 2005.

*srt subs with avi is working fine though with MCE.

works for me, but mine are mostly embedded in mkv. Also worked for mkv with no embedded, and an external sub file. I'm using ffdshow for subs.

Could you shortly describe how you set it up?
Im using CoreAVC with mkv-files, so if I enables X264 under codes in FFDshow I wouldn´t use CoreAVC anymore will I?

You can still use Core AVC for decoding and ffdshow for subtitles, I use to before I upgraded the processor.

Attached are a couple screenshots; if you want to use coreavc for decoding making sure x264 is set to disabled in ffdshow, as below. Subtitles setup as below. Haali media splitter setting as attached.

Only thing with this is, if there are subtitles present, they will always load, but you can then turn them off with the yellow button if not required.

make sure you have CoreAVC selected in the Mediaportal Config as below as well.

Ok thanks alot, I will try that. Thought X264 had to be enabled as a decoder for making the subtitles active.
Can you just turn the subs on/off with the yellow button, or can you also select different language subs with it?
And does the yellow button work "out of the box" or should I make some settings first?
Does the Blue button (Audio) work as well?

I couldnt make this work under MCE 2005.

Okay tried MP again. -Now I can remember why I deleted it the first time. It doesnt start very well.
Nothing happends when I execute it, only sometimes it works, and freezes a lot. But I didn´t got the yellow button to work. Is there any settings I should make?
