I have a Dreamvision VIIV Media center that came with XP Pro and Media center 2005.
It has an FIC motherboard, Intel 3.4 Dual core processor 2GB RAM, 320gb SATA HDD and two Dreamvision Hybrid HD Tuners (Hauppauge HVR-1100). All the lastest drivers etc are installed.
I have given up on trying to use the Media Center software and have since installed Media Portal (current version) because of its flexibility and it mostly seems to work OK although I still have some things I need to sort out to get it how I would like it to operate.
However can someone please tell me how to stop MC launching instead of Media Portal from the desktop when using the MC remote. I have Media Portal launching when Windows starts which is fine but I cannot get Media Portal to launch from the desktop without using a mouse, which I do not want connected.
