since there was not a real mce skin, i just made one.
ok, its not 100% like mcw 2005, but i gave my best.
its based on the mce skin and most of the pictures are the originals from the mce 2005.

there are still some bugs, like the tv osd, i know, ill fix them.

This skin is compliant with 0.1.3.0 right?

Ok, this looks REALLY good,
but please note that the graphics used in MCE 2005 are
copyrighted.

So if you created your own graphics, then its fine (i think)
if you copied them from MCE 2005 then you might upset microsoft with this

not all of them, but most of them are taken from mce 2005.
but why should this upsed ms?
u can get the background on a couple of pages.
and u can also grap the other images from screenshots.
and none of the images are 100% original, the are all modified to fit.

That's enough to get an "Abmahnung" in Germany... I'd be careful... Could get pretty expensive. It doesn't even have to be Microsoft who get upset by it. If certain German lawyers see it, they press ENTER on their keyboard and you have to pay some thousand Euros.... (Stichwort: Abmahnwelle)

But despite of that: Looking good, that skin is my new favourite! How did you get the gfx? Screenshots and editing afterwards? There are tools which can extract the gfx directly from the Microsoft binaries, so you won't loose quality.

in the beginning of mediaportal we where using some gfx from dell
we thought this was legal until i got a not so nice letter from their lawyers
i was very lucky they didnt sue me, but offcourse i had to remove
the gfx from mediaportal

So, looking good, but you are taking a high risk here
MCE2005 is copyrighted, meaning you are not allowed to copy it
this includes not only the application, but also all GFX.

The fact that you modified them doesnt change that.
For example say i change 1 little byte in a commercial application, would this mean that now i'm free to copy it? NO!

I strongly recommend you to make your own graphics and remove the
download link for this skin before you get into trouble.

i have taken the dl down for a while and ill contact microsoft first.
ill continue to develop the skin, but i wont release it untill if have got the ok from ms.
so if u have questions that are not "where can i download it" please place them here.
otherwise dont even ask.
