Hello all...tried a very exhaustive web search, wiki search, etc...and can't seem to track why MCE won't play Mediaportal created recorded TV. Mediaportal is installed on the MCE server. I don't use TV Server simply because as I understand, TV Server will not work with S/W based Hauppage 878 cards that use the little "trick" to make it work with MCE and/or Mediaportal.

So I use Mediaportal to simply record using the standard TVengine on the server and use other "client PC's" to access the network share (by the way, can't figure out why client PC's can't play the networked DVR-MS but that is another topic, the client PC's can play test DVR-MS's from the web just fine).

I run a linksys media extender to access MCE and since Mediaportal files dump to same recorded folder as MCE, I hope to use MCE to also play mediaportal files. The files are not corrupt as I can play them back fine in mediaportal. When MCE tries, it crashes and gives a ER_KRNLCRASH_LOG error (Blue screen STOP error) everytime. Whole computer locks up and I have to restart. I have been testing locally not using an extender to isolate that, still crashes.

I "believe" the decoder that MCE is using is a Sonic Encoder (using DECCHECK). I have tried to make the MP supplied MPV decoder the preferred but that didn't work either. I wonder if its a decoder issue or something else.
