Id be interested about this as well. Presumably this would be a plugin development (if at all possible).

GBPVR and networked media tank is an option but I think functionality is limited.
The problem I found with most of the extenders is that they dont do HDTV.
Im looking at using something likethe EEBox or AsRock ion both of these are still computers but they are small and supposed to be able to handle HDTV.
