Then I put mptray.exe & mphook.dll in the MP folder and launched it from there, I could then launch MP with the green button, the log file for this looks like.....

So mptray tries to launch mediaportal.exe without any path?
Thats correct cheezey, with the app in its correct place you can do the following:
Code:
mptray /register:all
Code:
mptray /register
The first registers the application to start with Windows for all users, the second for the current user only. mptray /unregister works in the same fashion.
cheers Smirnuff... It doesn't launch MP now no matter how hard i play with my nipple.
There's still a minor problem from within MP along the same lines though.
I don't use the mouse much from within MP during normal use but i have noticed something during testing. When i'm in another screen apart from the homescreen such as 'My TV' or 'Guide', that by moving the mouse around it will eventually cause it to go back to the homescreen, kinda as if TGB had been pressed.
To me this is minor as i don't mouse around in MP, and does this happen to anyone else? it could be just me i suppose...
