MCE on top of Mediaportal (1 Viewer)

I have set up a HTPC from scratch with Win7 pro SP1 x64 and Mediaportal 1.2.3, but I have this problem: When I switch from watching TV (Panasonic Plasma TV) to the PC HDMI input, MCE is wide open in full screen and I don't know why. I use a Logitech Harmony remote control emulating a Microsoft MCE remote (works perfectly in MP). My guess is that the change of input accidentally triggers MCE to wake up. Is there a way to suppress MCE? Or configure MCE to not respond to a remote? MP is open in full screen on the PC (set to be on top) and I thought MP had some functionality to stay on top. But even so, I don't lika MCE to be open behind MP if the remote is accidentally triggering functions in MCE. My current workaround is to hit the "back" key on the remote, MCE then hides behind MP and I can use MP. Any advice?
