Hello,

I have a MCE remote 2005 with an IR Blaster.
The remote works very well with MP.
Now I want configure the blaster for power On/Off my TV screen but I cannot find any info for how to install and use MyBlaster (or another ??).
The post from Smirnuff on Myblaster is'nt on the forum, why ?
I tried to copy myblaster dll in the process folder and myblaster.exe in the MP root folder. If I start Myblaster, I have an error in the logfile (cannot find the myblaster.dat (what is that ???)). I read that I must start with /GUMPO. I try and I have another error (change cannot start..).
After the buttons Learn, or start (with the setup in MP plugin) are grey...

Thank you in advance for some help and very sorry for my poor english !

Same problem here - with some questions

Hee hee, I have the exact same problem. I've been playing with MyBlaster for 4 nights already and still couldn't figure out how make it to control my STB. Kinda sad because everything else in MP are working so well together.

The mce remote control was included in the WinTV-PVR-150 MC Kit. When running myblaster.exe, the log file shows the same error: "myblaster.dat was not found." I downloaded a .dat file from this forum (for another device) and tried it, but the log file shows enumerical error message. Obviously I didn't use the correct dat file for my device.

My questions are as follows:

1. Is this dat file for the mce remote control, or for the STB device that I want to control?

2. Is there a way to create a new myblaster.dat from scratch? Or is there a template that I can use?

3. Or if none of this is possible, can someone please confirm that MyBlaster does not work with MCE remote control & blaster in MP at this time and I should look for another alternative.

Any helps will be appreciated.

If you want to program your remote to turn the tv on/off, you dont need MyBlaster. Its a learning remote, so you can teach it. Instructions on the button sequence to teach it might require google.

    Ok

    Thank you !

But, when you say its a learning remote, you say for the MCE remote or another to buy ?
And what to do for learning the remote ? (programs, config file) ?
I supposed that myblaster can make the same thing..

I try but it doesn't worked...
I have an MCE Remote from SMK... Perhaps it's not compatible.... Arf...
Nothing happens when I push "DVD Menu" and "OK" same time...
I think that only the Microsoft MCE remote works for learning...
Or it's not the same buttons to push but I cannot fund infos..
But with myblaster ? how to use ?

Providing it looks like the remotes in the setup, it will work. Your probably not doing it quite right. Took me quite a few goes when I first did it.
