MCE Remote doesn't work in Media Portal (1 Viewer)

You don't feel like uninstalling the 1.0.4.2 beta preview and reinstall 1.0.4.1 together with the patch in post #34 of the IRSS thread? Just to get our setup's the same.

I know you had another problem with that version, but I think we can overcome that.

ok, I'll reinstall the old version

after I install the fix I get an error when I try to start the input service configuration:
No Input Service plugins found!

Does not sound familiar.
So you uninstalled IRSS.
ReInstall version 1.0.4.1
Copied the fixed files to TV Server while TVService was stopped.
Restart everything (maybe even reboot)?

I'm using vista, so could that be the problem?

is IRSS the only way to use the remote for IR blasting?

I finally managed to get it to work,
I just needed to deselect the require focus option in the MP control plgin.

Hi,

I am running into the exact same problem. I can blast the IR codes to the STB from within Translator and the Blaster Plugins. The problem is that I am not able to switch channels from within Media Portal 1. I am almost close to giving up on MP if this problem is not going to be resolved soon. If I cannot get the IR blaster to work from within MP I have to try MythTV and SageTV or worse stick with Vista MC.

For one last time: Can someone please help me?

I have uninstalled everything related to MP. My current installation and setup is as follows.

Remote: MCE Remote

In media portal configuration I have enabled the following plugins

1. MP Blast Zone Plugin for IR Server
2. MP Control Plugin for IR Server (unchecked Require focus)

In TV Server Configuration I have enabled the following plugins

1. ServerBlaster
2. TV3 Blaster Plugin for IR Server
3. TV3MceBlaster
4. XmlTv

IRSS Version: The latest beta 1.4.2.2391
I have tried with and without the files in the 34th post of this thread (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...est-build-2391-a-33512/index4.html#post223962)
I have tried with and without the files in the 12th post of this (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...est-build-2391-a-33512/index2.html#post221799)
I have tried with a combination of the above two.

I have also tried with the IRSS version 1.0.4.1 and the combination of the above. I guess I have tried almost all the permutations and combinations and I am exhausted.

I have been dabbling with HTPCs for the last 10 years and I have never felt this miserable with any software and configurations. BTW, does anyone know how many people really use Media Portal?

When I solved my problem
I've also disabled the Remote -->"Use MCE remote" option in MP configuration,
maybe you should also try it.

OK. Finally the problem is resolved. I had to disable the TV3MceBlaster Plugin in TV Server Configuration. I am not sure what components are needed and what are not needed. I will reinstall MP from scratch over the weekend and try to get a working setup and document it.
