    Dear fellow users,

I've just completed building my first htpc and MP was the obvious choise of "front end". I've encountered a little annoying problem with my remote control. I plugged the reciever into the usb-slot and win xp installed it all by itself. I didn't press any button at all. I also dl'd the MPtray plugin so that MP would launch when I press the green button.

The problem shows itself when MP has started, on the home menu screen. It doesn't respond to any buttons untill i click the mouse. After that it works flawlessly. I've tried different settings in the configuration for MP but it seems like I can't solve it.

I've also tried the replacement plugin for the MCE remote but that doesn't work at all for me so i uninstalled it right away.

Any ideas how to solve this?

    best regards/ viggo

Hmm, the problem seems to be back now and I can't get it to work properly. I did found out though... that by clicking the back-button on the remote will get it working again. At least a bit more convinient than than the mouse click.

What's this about "I also dl'd the MPtray plugin so that MP would launch when I press the green button" ?? I have been searching for an hour to no avail - MP running flawless - I just can't get it to "turn on" with the green button ? Yes I have MPfocus running - what am I missing ? My next step is to just have MP start when I start the machine, then if I dont want it turn it off. Help?? Thanks to all for an AWESOME alternative to MCE !!

    Hi Mr Viggo,

If you use IR Server I think there is an option called "Require focus". I can not test right now but I think I had a similar problem to yours and changing this option to unchecked solved the problem for me.

Did you extract all 4 files and hit the install to register MPTray

Yes , 1 folder w/2 files - 2 exe files, and read me - unpacked to MP root as instructed , etc. per the "read me"

Thats' ALL I did - other than normal set-up stuff, I have a pretty "stock" install - running MP at start-up until I can resolve this.
