MCE remote in RC4 (1 Viewer)

I don't know if this a problem of my system or just a small change.

In my toshiba laptop RC3 the MCP opens in tray and when i click in START on the remote (MCE 2005 European) it opens all good all working.

I've installed the new version RC4 in a ACER Laptop and starts allso in tray but when i click start nothing opens.


I've allso notice that the remote setup interface its diferent was this feature removed or is just my system fault ??

Same here. I have the MCE European model (I think) and the MCE Remote Keyboard. It seems like every time I go into the Config and back into MP, the remote functions are lost. This includes the Start button, pause/play, etc. Strangely enough, the back button moves the cursor left.

When I go back into Configuration and check the box for the MCE Remote and Keyboard, everything works again....for a while.

I'll admit, I haven't had a chance to search around as much as I could have, but a brief search came up with this thread. If anybody has advice or a fix, let me know.

The problem started with my reinstall of MP yesterday. I had no problems of this sort with RC3. Current version is RC4 w/ no SVN updates.

Oh, and migas, are you using the new Rollup 2 update for XPMCE? Could this have something to do with it?

Do not know about any particular problem with mce remote, but recommend you use mptray.
just extract the files to the mediaportal folder and register the files and start mptray on windows boot and the green button will automatically start MP when pressed.

I've uninsltaled RC4 and instaled RC3, the remote problem was solved.

When minimized in tray the Start Button in the remote opens to full screen MP.

Fixed in SVN (05-06-2006--16-41 or later).

Why don't remote fixes show up in the cvs change log, or am I just missing them.

I installed the latest SVN and everything works great. No more checking the MCE Remote button everytime I go in Config.

As a side note, RC4 with this SVN rocks. I'm extremely impressed with the progress. Thanks for all your hard work!

Hi mPod, since this thread is pretty much resolved (thanks to your excellent work ) can I add a slight question?

I also have an X-Box 360 remote which functions just like the regular MCE remote. It also has a couple of extra buttons that do nothing in MP.
Is there any way to add those? I know you will need more info, but I am not sure how to get the ID's of the new buttons for you.

any advice?

What receiver do you use? What do you have to enable in MP to get it working at all? What does the log say?
