MCE Remote only arrow keys work (1 Viewer)

I have just upgraded from MP 1.0.2 running on Windows XP to MP 1.2.2 running on Windows 7 x86.

Everything went smoothly except the remote control doesn't work properly. I have a clone MCE remote and receiver and only the arrow keys and the OK keys work. None of the My TV, My Music, etc. keys work and neither does the Back or More keys etc. All of these worked perfectly on my previous setup.

I read an offhand comment in another thread with a similar issue to install IRSS and select MCE Remote, de-select MCE Remote in the MP Setup and it would work, but I still have exactly the same issue after doing this.

Can anyone provide a thread or some suggestions on how to get this working?

Same here... I have just started my "mission" today coming from MCE ever since it began! so this is all strange to me but especially the remote as I have been so used to mce for all those years... hope there is a fix/option for this!

what do you mean "FYI I installed 1.4.2.4290"?

I wish someone could help us with problem. This the second time this problem has occurred. The first time I reformatted my computer and reinstalled MP. On my MCE remote only the arrow keys, the OK button and the back button work. This happened when my computer went into sleep mode and I couldn't wake it up. I turned it off at the main power and turned it on again. then I had errors on my boot sector. I eventually fixed this using Windows Repair. Anyway after this the buttons stopped working. But, oddly enough the whole Remote works OK in Windows Media Centre. Maybe some file in Media Portal is corrupt and needs to be replaced. Can anybody help?? I really don't want to reformat my whole computer if I don't have to.

I think you need to help people help you, so please:
    - Give more info on the remote
    - Attach logs

I had a similar problem with an upgrade to MP 1.2.2 - the remote arrow keys work and nothing else does.
I ended up just reinstalling exactly the same IRSS build (1.4.2.4290) on top of the current one and it all started to work again. The existing remote mappings and learned codes I had in place were not wiped in the reinstall. So it was all pretty easy in the end. Just not obvious that an IRSS reinstall is what I needed to do :)
