Ok I renamed apps.cfg and after restarting nothing works anymore, even if i'm inside Media Portal:|

I have the "Use IRtrans receiver" option checked in the setup box and after pressing the test button it says "IRtrans server up and running". I tried searching irtrans posts but i mostly found the solution to rename the apps.cfg... Any other things I might have missed?

Do you see the IRTrans icon in the system tray? If it is receiving IR, it should blink when you hit a key on the remote (try it w/o running MP) - if not, you have a problem w/ your IR receiver (since the "test" button in MP recognized the IRTrans server it is probably NOT the server). In MP setup remote, you should have the "use microsoft MCE remote or keypad" checked. Try checking the "extended logging" on the IRTrans remote tap in MP setup, then run MP and hit a few keys. Examine MediaPorta.log and see if your keypresses were accepted. Let me know what the log says.

Ok I eliminated the receiver problem, since the remote works fine if I don't rename apps.cfg (in MCE) and I still see the flashing icon after i renamed apps.cfg. Also the arrow keys and OK button works fine before i did the rename. It seems like after renaming nothing wants to work not even MCE.

The log file shows me pretty much nothing, the only commands that it logged are the ones i clicked with my mouse. What bothers me is the fact that it says "No MCE remote found" ?

"No MCE remote found" refers to the fact that you have no Microsoft receiver. So you can disable MCE remote support and use IRTrans only.

Weird, I thought the remote that came with the Zalman HD160 (the one i have) is a MCE remote :\

Well either way i've tried enabling & disabling the MCE remote support, renaming the apps.cfg after which the remote does nothing except the irtrans light flashes when it receives a command and brings it up in the detected IR commands. Without renaming apps.cfg windows MCE still works fine with the remote and the arrow keys work with Media Portal. There are no commands that show up in the log except mouse/keyboard actions. Umm that covers about everything i've done so far :D

I'll appreciate any other ideas anyone can throw out there, thanks!

It is, but the "integrated support" refers to the receiver, not to the remote itself. So IRTrans is the only "remote receiver" you have to enable in MP's config. ;)
