    It's finally happened.

Version 1.0.2.0 is on the download site.

    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Download/Plugins/Input/MCEReplacementPlugin1.0.2.0/

Supports both MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 and SVN.

    What's new in 1.0.2.0?

    * All source code is now stored in Plugins SVN, and is therefore not included in the installer, this means the source code is always available but also keeps down the size of the installer.
    * New Feature: Mouse Mode. Mouse Mode lets you press a button on your MCE Remote and have it take control of the on screen mouse. While in Mouse Mode you can control the mouse not only in MediaPortal but across your whole PC.
    * New Command Type: "Message Command" lets you send window messages to other programs.
    * New Command Type: "Key Command" lets you simulate keystrokes.
    * New Macro commands to change the Blaster Port and Blaster Speed mid-Macro.
    * New help file system and help button inside the plugin configuration.
    * Integrated most configuration windows into the main plugin setup form.
    * Modified MceIr.dll to include functions for changing speed and blaster manufacturer and included these options into the plugin.
    * Blaster speeds of Fast, Medium, Slow and None are available. Please note: None does not specify a blaster speed, but if a speed setting was used previously it will persist under the None setting until the IR unit's power is cycled.
    * All configuration, IR, Macro and Set Top Box files have been moved to the Application Data folder ("C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal MCE Replacement Plugin").
    * New installer, to avoid problems with files in the wrong place.
    * MCE Replacement Tray is now included with the plugin. This is an MPTray like program, but for use with the replacement driver (also compatible with the original Microsoft driver).
    * Added suspend and resume handling to the different remote setup area of configuration.
    * Better control logic around Message Mode and use of the MceIrApi. Hopefully will avoid some future issues.
    * There's a configuration file for HIP and Girder included now.
    * Added more set top boxes to the quick setup list.
    * Fixed an external channel changing bug.
    * Added a new macro item "Popup Message".
    * Removed "None" button from Multi-Mapping button list.
    * Moved "Docs" folder out of the plugin sub-folder.
    * Added a "No Window" option when launching external programs. (Note: You will need to redo any external program commands you already have)
    * Added the ability to match a parameter of a GUI Message in the Event Mapper, this lets you be more specific about the events you want to catch. This also lets you map skin buttons to plugin functions.
    * Fixed a bug in the event mapper when trying to map Serial Commands.
    * Fixed a bug in Serial Commands.
    * Corrected a small difference in testing and run time execution of channel changing.
    * Put in a fix for scheduled recording bug. It wont crash the plugin when the bug occurs but it will sometimes fail to tune the channel correctly on multiple STB configurations when a scheduled recording occurs. I'd advise people with multiple TV cards to copy their STB settings to the first card to make sure scheduled recordings work.
    * Re-worked p/invoke methods for greater compatibility (towards supporting 64-bit).

Go here for the Vista 32-bit Replacement Driver:

    Hi Aaron,

Thanks for a great plugin! You've done an awesome job with this.

For me it made the difference to make MP a really great application to run on the HTPC in the living-room and even have my family use it.

    Thanx

    /Peter

I have both 0.2.2.0 and 0.2.2.0 with the latest svn. I have managed to get the plugin working with the release version, but not with the svn version (10 March), where I get a wrong version error. I want to move over to tvserver, but until this plugin wotks for me, I can't. Another problem I have is when configuring the plug-in, I cannot learn ir commands, because as soon as I click on learn command, I get an immediate fail to learn ir command. Could it be because I'm using an ir keyboard to click on the learn ir command button?

Loaded the second svn snapshot of the day and I can now installthe plugin in both but only one works...unfortunately. I have both version because Im trying to get the server working, but until I do, I use just version 0.2.2.0.

I guess if I have just one version on my machine then I'll be ok.

    petsa:
Thank you for your kind words. I made the plugin because I saw it as the difference between using and not using MediaPortal for myself. So I understand and appreciate what you're saying.

    Babnik42:
The IR keyboard could be causing the problem with learning. I'm not sure why the SVN version would fail but I will look into it. If you're using tv engine 3 then you should take a look at the TV3 MCE Blaster plugin. I have a thread in this forum for it, and will be posting it for the download section very soon.

    Cheers,

I have just tried the tv3 blaster, and cannot get blasting to work. Setup seems correct, in that I can use the test facility in the setup screen to blast, and that works fine, but manual control does not work. I have made sure I have setup the blaster on the correct card. Not sure what else I could check.

    Hi Babnik42,

Are you using the TV3 MCE Blaster plugin and the MCE Replacement Plugin on the same PC? If you are they will conflict with each other. I'm working on a solution but it is still a few weeks away. Sorry for the trouble.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

yes I am. I followed the wiki that allows you to run multiple versions of media portal on one machine. I have the release version of media portal 0.2.2.0 and an svn build with tvserver running in two different folders. A batch file runs either of them. They don't obvioculy run at the same time!

I can wait for the fix. If you need any help testing it, I've got the environment ready for testing. Just give me a shout!

    Great,

I've been developing a suite of applications and plugins to get around this issue but I just a had a great idea on how to make it even better for MediaPortal TVE3 people...

I won't go in to too much detail but I think people will like it when it's ready.

Keep an eye on the MCE Replacement plugin sub-forum, hopefully within a couple of weeks I will post a test version for people to test (or maybe start with a limited release to just people who have previously expressed an interest).

    Cheers,

Two quick things...is it possible to add a delay between clicking on the learn ir command, and the actual learning itself. As I previously stated, I use an IR keyboard/Mouse to click on the button, and I get an immediate fail. I could plug in a usb keyboard, and set it up, but a delay would be great, perhaps user definable. thus when you press the key, 'Learn IR Command', it waits x seconds until it actually starts to learn. That should get round the problem I have. (and I'm sure quite a few others have too.) Btw, I use HipSend to blast the ir codes out, since I cannot learn through the plugi. It works, but would prefer to have one solution.

Also, where can I have a look at the source? Of both the replacement and tv3 blaster plugins? (New to Media Portal, still finding my way around!!)
