Oh and another thing? I do not use the replacement driver (readme says I don't have to!), but can only get all the functionalty of the remote to work if I have both the plugin enabled and the built-in mce remote enabled. Doesn't seem to affect the plug-in. If I don't do that, a lot of the remote buttons don't work. Back and guide to name just two. Just to iterate, it seems to work fine even though I have both enabled!

Aaron,

to save you the bother, I downloaded the source, and added a pause of 5 seconds just after the button is pressed. The only difference now is that I get the fail message 5 seconds later. So it has nothing to do with the IR keyboard. Must be something else.

I'll let you know if I make any progress. (let you get on with your great, and keenly awaited, improvements!!)

    Hey,

I'll add in the delay you mentioned, even though it wont fix it for you, it's worth doing.

As for needing both the internal and replacement plugin enabled... Try reseting to defaults the replacement plugin's mce button mappings and disabling the MediaPortal built in support. If that doesn't fix it, I'll look into other options.

    Cheers,

I found that I needed the replacement driver, or I had the problem as Babnik42 -very few of the buttons would work... Installed the replacement, and everything works perfectly...

Just to let you know that I experience the same problems: I can also only get all the functionalty of the remote to work if I have both the MCE replacement plugin enabled and the MP built-in mce remote enabled. If not doing it that way - a lot of the remote buttons don't work.

    Best regards

I thought I was the only one who somehow could not get buttons like "back" or "skip" to work. I updated to the newest cvs last weekend and also updated to this latest version of the MCE replacement plugin. After that I could only use the arrow buttons, the ok button and few others.

I solved it by installing the replacement driver. Since then everything worked like a charm - also the mapping of the suspend / resume events.

Once more: Thanks a lot for this great plugin Aaron!

Thanks for the info MJGraf, it sounds like something changed that has broken it.

I'll look into it and see what I can do.

And another one here! I'm just using the standard mce remote driver, and had to enable the built in mce remote support to get anything beyond just the arrow keys and enter working.

    Hi Aaron,

Is it possible to mix two types of command in the same "macro"? Here is what I would like to accomplish:

I have setup the blue button on my MCE remote to send Alt-F4. This will minimize MP as well as ending other apps I start from MCE. But sending MP to tray won't work if something is playing...

Hence, I would like to send first "Stop" (as defined for the STOP button on the remote) and then Alt-F4.

Is there a way to do this you think?

    /Peter

    Hey Peter,

At the moment, no, there isn't a way to do this. But I'm working on a change to the MediaPortal input handler that will give you the ability to have multiple actions under the one button definition. This wont just affect my plugin but will be for all input types in MediaPortal. Once this is in you would be able to put a "Stop" action and an MCE Replacement plugin macro under the same button condition.

I'll post back when it's in SVN. Though I do have a few things on the go at the moment, so you may not see anything for a week or so.

    Cheers,
