Here we finally have the long time requested Microsoft MCE Remote support build into MP2 without any additional tools, software.

    Installation
Attached to the post is an archive. Download it and extract it to:
    Code:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client
The folders should be then be:
    Code:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client\Plugins\MceRemoteReceiver
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client\Tools\MP2-ClientLauncher

    Usage
    • Be sure IRSS is not running anymore or at least the MCE plugin is disabled within IRSS.
    • Start the application
      Code:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client\Tools\MP2-ClientLauncher\MP2-ClientLauncher.exe
    • You can set the MP2-ClientLauncher to Autostart with windows by right clicking the TrayIcon.

    And again:
Isn't it amazing how simple it is to extend MP2 with new features?
How decoupled and independent everything is from each other? :)

    SourceCode
    Todo List
    • Code cleanups
    • Improve the MP2-ClientLauncher

Updated the archive in the first post. It includes the
    • MceRemoteReceiver plugin and a
    • MP2-ClientLauncher application, which is a simple application sitting in the tray and waiting for a StartButton / GreenButton press to start MP2-Client.exe or bring it to front.
    Have fun.

    Hi.
Tested it. First I didn't installed it to the right place so MP2 client was not started by "Green Button". I did not see the change in first post, my fault.
After finding the right place all is working as expected.

    Hi.
Small update, I found a little glitch. If you configure the tray app to Autostart, then at Windows Startup an error message appears about to run a .dll. The dll Windows is moaning about is "MediaPortal.Common.dll". As a workaround I've put a link to MP2-ClientLauncher.exe in Startmenu -> Autostart. Now MP2-ClientLauncher.exe starts on Windows Startup without this error message.

Edit: Autostart it's called in German, in English it has to be Startup...

Will test it asap. But right now my HTPC is doing some recordings, so no restart possible atm.
