medai portal and squeezebox (2 Viewers)

just wondering guys have a couple of squeeze boxes around the house
and love it when a party when can sync them all and they all play the same music through out the house
thats great
but would like my living room pc which has media portal on to contribute as it got he biggest speakers
is there any way i can get media portal to play the stream or show up as a soft squeeze client

do not know if sync works yet but can get it to play

Care to enlighten us? I too am very curious to the "party mode"/"house wash mode" I haven't got the squeezebox, but i have several discarded computers which can act as clients. Perhaps your method can work for me as well? Thanx in advance!

well got quite a few of these squeeze boxes now
a classic and a radio and boom box one
anyway
there all connected and my idea was when i have a party which i do a lot
have all the same music throughout the house
anyway the boom radio and classic all sync perfectly but had no way of doing this foor the main stereo
so i loaded software sqeeze box in the background
and set the playback device to the normal output
soft squeeze set to start when the pc does
and set media portal to stay on top
so they all play all the same music with a very small laptop or my pda picking the music
or as i had set up once with media portal but did not like it
point medai portal radio to the http address of the sqeeze box server
but loads of options here

The answer might be a bit late, but you can sync them over the squeezbox admin page.
In the top right corner you can select the player (squeezeboxes) and the last menu item is Syncronize.
