Media Centre Keyboard (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Nearly done buying my toys.

I would like ot know if the MS Media Centre Keyboard works with MP.

It states it requires Media Centre 2005, but I'm quite sure it will work with MP - but I would like to make sure first.

Any experience of this?

If you search around you will find that people have gotten it to work, but if I remember correctly there is some difficulty getting it to work with XP Home as opposed to Pro, or something like that.

Hi,

MS Media Centre Keyboard works fine with MP and XP Pro (Home).

I think you need some Update for eHome Infrared Receiver:

Update Rollup 1 for eHome Infrared Receiver for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (KB888795)

and

KB905213 – Device Manufacturer Update for eHome Infrared Receiver

You can install the updates on XP Pro or Home

It should work fine with XP Professional, you just need the Rollup update to get the mouse and qwerty keyboard to work. I've got it to work with XP Home, but it's not as straight forward - but it is possible!

Yes you do. In fact, the manual that comes with the keyboard contains the URL to it. You should also be able to find the URL in the forum very easily.
