Media Portal 1.0.1 stuttering video (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Love Media Portal, I first installed 1.0 RC4, and it had tv (SD) stuttering both on TV server locally and on client (laptop).

When 1.0 came along I installed that and all stuttering went away, both machines all channels (SD).

I upgraded to 1.0.1 and stuttering returned.

Both Machines are using Nvidia laptop 440go and desktop (tv server) mx440 video cards.

I have messed with various versions of video drivers without success.

Issue seems to be related to 1.0.1. Any ideas?

MX440 cards are not directx9 compliant, some of the new DX features that MP is taking advantage of, is showing up for people using these cards.

All you can try, is latest drivers and make sure the graphics aperture memory in bios is set to at least 128mb.

After that, a newer card is required.

This has always been a requirement, in fact we have been amazed that some people have managed to get MP to run on a non DX9 card at all.

Pretty terminal for upgrades on the laptop then.

I reinstalled version 1.0 on laptop last night and all working fine again there. BTW: both versions stutter terribly when watching TV in the window (MP full screen but the TV in window next to menus). It smooths out with v1.0 when making the TV go full screen. With V1.0.1 it stutters there as well.

The TV server desktop machine is still running 1.0.1 though, and still stutters when watching locally (full screen video)

So 1.0 is doing something differently to 1.0.1.
