I read thoroughly all the hackings required to work media portal under an authenticated proxy in your forum:mad: .

1) I first tried changing the machine.config files but it did not work for 1.1 and 2 .NET set ups
2) SEt up with proxycfg and nothing
3) Used the final hacking stuff using the PAROS local proxy with the following set up:
external proxy University Proxy at port 8080 with user and password for authentication
then local proxy with port 8085 no authentication
then in Internet options indicate the proxy this local proxy

But it does not work

Any hints

Cheers

Carlos

Just get your internet explorer to work _without_ any 3rd party proxy plugin and you're done. Which plugin do you refer to for internet access?

    Hi rtv:

    Greetings from a Spanish/Australian at Sydney 22:36

This is the configuration I have in internet options:
    Automatically Detect Settings
    Use Configuration Scripts: http://www.usyd.edu.au/proxy.pac
Use a Proxy Server for your lan: www-cache.usyd.edu.au port 8080
Bypass proxy server for your local addresses

IE7 Works fine with this configuration

But I cannot change city in Media Portal Setup it does not detect the network(the proxy)

Somebody from Spain said in the forum that using a local proxy with redirection to remote proxy indicating login and password and not having authentication in the local proxy it worked. The local proxy was the open sourceproxy Paros which is quite buggy and it did not work for me. I used something called proxyway but it did not work for me. Any suggestions as next week I am getting a usb TV tuner.

    Cheers

    Carlos
