Hi all,
I've been reading a fair bit about this recently on the forums but I've still not got a concrete resolution to my problem. I have a two machine setup - a server in the loft with a Nova500T running XP and TVServer (latest svn). My second PC in the living room, the HMPC/HTPC runs vista and MediaPortal (also latest svn).
The issue is that whenever I open MP on my HMPC it stops all the services for Windows Vista Media Center - by design I know - but this stops all my recordings local to that machine from working - rather annoying - I understand the historical reason for this but I only use the media portal client on that machine and require absolutely NO interaction with the tv tuner card that is present. Additionally when you close MP, it doesn't start back up whichever service it is that listens for the media center remote so I can't start Media center from the remote which looks to be a media portal bug?
The issue seems to be common to other users with a similar setup including iosub who was developing patches, modifying the source code etc - was the functionality ever integrated into the RC2 release or subsequent svn releases to provide the option to shutdown the media center services or not??
With thanks,
Phil
