Hey everybody,

I have a problem that occurs in every version of media portal.
Installation goes fine. Startup goes fine. But when i enter any plugin the screen stays clear (nothing appears). When i press "esc" i return to the main window where the items do appear.

My errors logs show that there is something wrong with directx. I even says somethings about directx 9 while i am using vista and "dxdiag.exe" tells me i am using directx 10.

I have tried using catalyst version 7.2 but that doesn't help.

I really want to start using media portal. Who can help me?

First thing i would check is UAC disabled, if not the correct installation paths are not written.

DX10 is backward compatible with DX9, so no problems there then.

the message you have showing i googled it, and all 4 finds pointed back to mediaportal (3) or pvrschedular (1)

About the only thing i can say is uninstall MP, delete the mediaportal folders under program files and program Data (enable hidden folders for this one).

use driver 7.2 as we know there are no problems with this one.

Reboot and then try reinstalling MP from scratch, are you running Vista with UAC turned off permanently, as i have had problems (as other people have reported as well) so leave mine disabled.

Leave plugins alone until you get the main app working, then sort out plugins once everything stable.

I've tried this and this doesn't help either. Thanks for efforts though.
Note that i am not using any extra plugins besides that main plugins that ship with media portal.

I there anybody that knows the solution to this problem??
