Media Portal Frontend on Compact flash - Tutorial/Howto (1 Viewer)

a bit more information:

- the error only occurs in the mediaportal configuration, first time when it starts (ignore->configuration starts) next time when click OK
-so the configuration isn't able to create a mediaportal.xml
-MP won't start because, mediaportal.xml is missing->starts configuration
-installed MP on another computer, copied the mediaportal.xml to the CF card (i know this won't work, but just to try it)
-MP starts to load but hangs up with a MP-MyPrograms-Dialog (seems to me that's because of the copied mediaportal.xml)

so it seems to me, that only the configuration won't work... could there be any missing services?
i've done everything as described in your howto and it's a full installtion of winxp, nothing deleted with nlite.

I have one question, do you have changed your folders of the plugins e.g. moving pictures to a folder on your server ? I'm just asking because the thumbs folder of the client can get realy big (in my case about 2gb) and if you did change the paths could you say something about the performance?
